Sky in Water

This is a picture of the Golden Gate Bridge that I took from Point Bonita. In this process I wanted to see how much of the sky color is inside the water.

By cropping out a section of image and measuring the amount of color from each pixel, I fed those numbers into rhino and was able to further experiment the results in grasshopper.…

5-Axis Milling of Aalto Vase

Just getting started on a new project: Complex 3D Swarfing and Assembly.

We are recreating the Aalto Vase using 5-Axis Swarfing to cut both the inner and outer profiles in a series of slices, assembling into a compound curved object. This will lead to more difficult and interesting applications of 3D Swarf tooling. More to come soon.

Hello everyone, I use and design with Rhino every day at my work.  I mainly do custom patterns for inflatable products. We cut these patterns with a tangential knife CNC and assemble them with hot air welders.  Check out my photos page for some examples.
