Buenos Aires’ city border with the river Plate is an unexplored opportunity. This two-week workshop will develop dynamic design strategies for the city in team-based research. The workshop will explore and test digitally fabricated structures as responsive systems to existing city paths and urban crowd behaviours. PARAMETRIC techniques and tools will be introduced to the students during the workshop.
The liquid barrier of the river will be used as a material to rearticulate the urban fabric, integrating architectural and urban scales. The immense size and force of the river fuses the city grid with its liquid state to generate a ‘WATER/CITY’ field.
