Yes, if the CNC machine is small, they may not fear anything, but to be in front of a 4'x8' Router is not that friendly. Also, if you can setup the LEGO small people :-) all at the same place always, you can make a competition to see who can turn them down the faster, going from A to B. At the same time, we could also talk about the X,Y Cartesian Plane!
