Oh it's good for lost-wax casting, too, which may be how jewelry people use it. I've seen it used for custom architectural hardware in aluminum and bronze using that method, too.

Elijah - we have some. It's generically called "hard carving wax" and is commonly used to fabricate prototype molds (I know Hasbro has used them for GI Joes and stuff like that). The brand we have is the blue wax from Du-Matt Corporation. There's also purple (a little more rigid) and green wax (the most rigid for the most detail) from the same company.

Wait... I also have a Roland MDX 40... I should try this!
