Parametric Design + Optimization + Digital Fabrication

Raster based information of an image can be broken down into various sized dots of color to construct an image much like the halftone images that make up older news prints. The 'Halftone' images were created using an image sampler within GH where the ink pixel was replaced with a circle where the diameter was controlled by that pixel's greyscale value. A sheet of ebony stained 3/4" plywood was then routed at these center points to various depths (depending on the circle diameter) using a v-tip bit. The light colored plywood was then revealed leaving the pixelated image.
