KUKA|prc is capable of instantly generating src and dat files containing the KUKA robot language (KRL) - even for 5 axis milling jobs. However, as far as I can oversee it the code is intended for KRC2 controller. I don't know if the src code will also work on KRC1 controller. I have experience with KRC2 controller and their variants, only. You might wanna ask
http://www.robotsinarchitecture.org/
if the postprocessor in KUKA|prc could be adapted to KRC1 if necessary.
I btw wrote my own postprocessor in MATLAB that wraps g-code into the KRL. But this really is the oldfashioned way of doing things. GH + KUKA|prc is the way to go as it is a unifying approach to design, CAM, and robot programming.
Hi H,
Thanks for the link, nice photos. From your reply you described "Robot Milling Simulation" does this mean that it can output toolpath data to KRC1?. Usually CAD/CAM for Industrial robots needs 5 axis cam + a post for the robot, if you were using a 5 axis cam with Kuka Camrob, you would need to import 5 axis toolpath to Camrob then Camrob to .SRC and .DAt files. Does GH + Kuka|PRC work the same?
I did some robot milling simulation with KUKA|prc as I participated at one of their workshops. Check out my album:
Thank you Greg to point out our work to Freddy.
What a nice grey KUKA you have, Freddy. Yes you can download the KUKA|prc component plus some extras such as Kinematic Simulation etc. from our homepage: http://www.robotsinarchitecture.org/kuka-prc and an example how to use the GH components you find here: http://www.robotsinarchitecture.org/772/robotic-punching-revisited
Have fun!
Hi Freddy - this is a definition download, rather than component. All available here:
