Does any have experience or any tutorials using Rhino with a VersaLaser?

I sent you a couple links to other rhino blogs.  RHino Jungle and Rhino in Education.  They have other groups members but the rhino network is very small.  Did you see the youtube videos cadjunkie has?  Also the Infinite Skills training videos are great.  I purchased the first one.

Not sure my school is video conferencing capable.  I have skype though.

Hi Bill,

I just finished Rhino I training. Finally, I feel prepared. School starts next week. I have a laser and I have a feeling we will get a CNC milling machine. I am happy to share any ideas and make any connections. Our school also has a distance learning lab for video conferencing.

Hey J Swanson, I will be using Rhino with middle school students this year and I have designed a few assignments centered around the things I have learned at some teacher workshops taught by Bruce Weirich in Mansfield Ohio.  He is a great beginner instructor and teaches Rhino to elementary, middle, and high school students.  Do you have access to any cnc equipment or 3d printers?  If not you can do some other hands on things with your students like bridge building, airplane gliders, rockets, formula F1 co2 cars, virtual art gallery, virtual cities.

Google SketchUp files found in the Google Warehouse can be imported into Rhino for fun learning as well.  I will post some of my assignments next week on my Rhino in Education blog site.

I am new to using Rhino. I will be using it with middle school students in an Engineering class so any ideas will help. Like a few of you, I am in South Florida.

I am an Associate Professor at Tuskegee University - School of Architecture. My first level students do some 3-D modeling and learn orthographic projections. I have been teaching  Digital Design techniques at the Upper Undergraduate Level -- Parametric Modeling and Generative Algorithms with Grasshopper. My next move is to introduce Fab-Lab program. I expect a lot from this rhinoFabLab Group.

I am now structuring my next course to focus on Parametric Modeling and Generative Algorithms with Grasshopper. Best Regards, Edouard

For those interested. I have created a site for my GH course at FIU. My students use this as a platform to submit work and discuss progress. Feel free to stop by and leave comments as you please. Best Regards, Jovan

Greetings,

New Fab-Lab/ART teacher here, for doing Concept to finished part, (CAD-CAM-CNC). My company designs and builds custom CNC and Industrial Machines, plus factory automation. For Fab-Lab we use Machine-able Wax for proof of concept or prototyping.

thanks to Andres for being kind enough, to show me the benefits of the Fab-Lab program!!

I am an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University. I have been teaching Advanced Digital Design techniques at the Graduate Level. I am now structuring my next course to focus on Parametric Modeling and Generative Algorithms with Grasshopper. Andres and the Mcneel Miami staff have a great workshop and have been very helpful in my own development with GH.
