According to Merleau-Ponty, through our senses, we construct the subjective understanding of the world. We contemplate through this workshop, what it means to ‘sense’ and ‘experience’ in the digital era. We will explore how we can utilize sensory data to link movement in space to sound, visual and materialize outcome. Digital and computational tools will be explored to facilitate the conversion of the
sensory data.

As a continuation of the last vertical studio, we aim to link the sensory data to 3 dimensional physical entity. The goal of the outcome is to build a 3D structure that allows interaction between the body and the structure itself. From the last year’s exploration on producing sensory data, we aim to learn how to define criteria to select meaningful data that can inform the movement of the 3 dimensional structure and its performance.
