DESCRIPTION:Merging the process of recycled construction waste materia
 ls + digital tools\n\nuA collective, Blokcad Lab and the Pontificia Bo
 livariana University Medellin are excited to announce an upcoming coll
 aborative workshop, INSITU Medellin. Lead by uA-collective co-founders
  and Blokcad Lab, INSITU is a weeklong workshop for architecture stude
 nts and professionals in Medellin, Colombia that will investigate how 
 ceramic materials can merge with new technologies to create small-scal
 e interventions that influence urban space.\nColombia has a long tradi
 tion in masonry architecture, and an ability to express architecture t
 hrough materiality. Its use of ceramic materials in historical and mod
 ern projects has demonstrated how the sense of place can be influenced
  by not simply the form, but more by the material expression.\nAt a ma
 terial level, participants will explore Blokcad Lab’s innovative pro
 cess of repurposing masonry construction waste material; at a computat
 ional level, participants will explore their designs through Rhino3D a
 nd Grasshopper, and at the centre, participants will actualize their d
 esigns through the use of multi-axis milling machines to realize their
  urban interventions.\nINSITU Medellin is the first edition of the glo
 bal initiative between uA and Blokcad Lab with following events schedu
 led in South America and Europe. Each event will focus on investigatin
 g the informal development of the host city, its non-consolidated urba
 n spaces and auto-construction processes. INSITU will be a social and 
 technological platform for knowledge exchange between neighborhoods an
 d communities all over the world. We invite government, industry, acad
