DESCRIPTION:We are very excited to announce the launch of the Embedded
  Intelligence Lecture Series, a trio of free, live-streaming discussio
 ns put forth by leading academics and broadcast via Google Hangouts on
  Air.  \nCurated by Gil Akos, Evan Greenberg, and Ronnie Parsons, the
 se lectures aim to interrogate three main lines of inquiry--material s
 ystems, natural systems, and machanic systems.  Each esteemed present
 er will discuss how designers can approach problems through the lens o
 f Embedded Intelligence in practice, research, and academia.  There w
 ill be an in-person audience at the Architectural Association in Londo
 n and a recording of the series will be available on-demand through th
 e AA's online lecture video catalog.  \nThe first lecture, Biological
  Intelligence, will take place on February 3 and will feature The L
 iving's David Benjamin. Winner of the MoMA PS1 Young Architects Progra
 m, Benjamin has created paradigm-shifting projects such as Living Lig
 ht, an interactive canopy in Seoul that reacts to air quality, and Am
 phibious Architecture, a project which expresses pollution levels in t
 he Hudson River.  \nFuture lectures will be given by Michael Winestoc
 k of the Architectural Association and Skylar Tibbits of the Self-Asse
