DESCRIPTION:AA DLab experiments thoroughly on the possibilities of dig
 ital design tools and rapid prototyping techniques as highly integrate
 d systems of design development. It is an intensive computation and fa
 brication oriented workshop that is structured around a general theme 
 in each consecutive edition.\nIn 2012, DLab takes on the color of Gree
 n as the shade of meaning and the design vessel for a number of rigoro
 us experiments carried out using algorithmic design methodologies and 
 digital fabrication techniques. Associated with the concepts of regene
 ration, emergence and growth in nature, the colour green will serve as
  our inspiration for observing natural and biological structures, whic
 h we will then abstract into elaborated design proposals\nThe workshop
  will be formulated as a two-phase process. The initial phase will be 
 highlighted with the conceptualization and production of design propos
 als by the participants as well as the elaboration of a working one-to
 -one scale prototype. During the second phase, participants and tutors
  will be located at the AA Hooke Park facilities, working on the fabri
 cation and assembly strategies of the prototype, followed by the fabri
 cation of the outcome. \nThe deadline for applications is 9 July 2012
