I must say your site and resources are really excellent and to anyone asking about Reads manuals I can say the Yachtsman manual from your site is much more use for my purposes than the one that came with my machine (as far as I can tell Reads originally supplied a standard domestic manual with a small photocopied slip that had a couple of "Useful Hints on Sewing Sailcloth"). Well I am new to the sewing trade and the reeds was given to me and u have just bought a used consew206 en and I have a harness machine also that will sew 3/4" of leather which is what I am doing most of the time. The reeds handles patches on thinner leather just fine and does well with canvas.
